Guideline of use computer resource in MDAS
ユーザの皆様、
Dear users,
システム安定運用、全ユーザが快適に利用できる状態を保つために、
ひとりのユーザが同時に使用できるリソース量のガイドラインを
提示いたします。ご理解とご協力をお願いいたします。
To keep the system healthy and all users comfortable with
limited system resources, we set out the following general guidelines.

Guideline of use computer resource (CPU cores) in Multi-wavelength Data
Analysis System
Dear users,
Thank you for using ADC Multi-wavelength Data Analysis System (MDAS),
and we request for usage of MADS.
In interactive data analysis servers (kaim* and kaih*), we are checking
whether or not users are hogging computer resources (CPU core, memory
etc.) for a long time. The prolonged occupation of computer resources
may cause a disturbance to other users' work, mostly due to concurrent
heavy processing on servers.
In particular, the prolonged occupation of CPU cores may cause to be
inaccessible to data in local disk area and disturb to other users' work
substantially. To avoid the situation, we request that one user should
use up to 8 cores per one host.
In addition, we would like to avoid in the case of using many
interactive analysis servers simultaneously by clustering. We consider
that upper limit of simultaneous use of the interactive analysis servers
is 10 hosts per one user.
We will provide a warning to the user who disturb to other users' work
by the prolonged occupation. When the situation is not improved, we will
stop the occupying processes forcibly.
In addition, we may stop user’s processes when occurring degradation of
server performance (response delay etc.) cause to concentrate many
user’s processes on the specific host (* It is in order to reduce the
load of the server. Therefore, the forced stop may be performed even in
accordance with the guideline).

多波長データ解析システム 計算機リソース使用のガイドライン
ユーザの皆様
日頃のご利用ありがとうございます。
多波長データ解析システムのご利用にあたり、お願いになります。
対話型解析サーバ (kaim*, kaih*) において、少数のユーザで多くの CPU、メモ
リ等の計算機リソースを長時間占有する事例が確認されております。そのような
状況は、他ユーザの作業に影響を及ぼしたり、処理の集中によってサーバに不具
合を発生させる原因にもなります。
特に CPUコアを占有した場合は、特定ホストのローカルディスク内にあるデータ
へのアクセスが困難になり、他ユーザの作業に多大な影響を与える場合がありま
す。そのような状況を避けるために、1ホストにおけるCPUコアの利用上限を8コ
ア程にして頂ければと思います。
また、対話型解析サーバ群をクラスター化する事によって、同時に大量に利用す
ることも避けて頂ければと考えています。対話型解析サーバ群の同時利用の上限
は、10ホストを目安にして頂ければ思います。
なお、リソースの占有によって他ユーザの作業に影響を及ぼした場合は、注意・
警告の連絡をさせて頂きます。また、注意・警告後も状況が改善されない時は、
リソースを占有しているプロセスを強制停止する場合もあります。また、ガイド
ラインに則った利用であっても、利用者が増えてシステムに過大な負荷がかか
り、レスポンスが悪くなるなど利用に支障をきたす場合には 負荷解消を目的と
したプロセス強制停止を行う場合もありますので、ご了承頂ければと思います。
