The periodic data deletion policy of MDAS

定期データ削除の運用方針をまとめましたので報告いたします。
ご理解とご協力をお願いいたします。

The periodic data deletion policy of MDAS
Dear user,
Thank you for using Multi-wavelength Data Analysis System (MDAS).
As stated previously, we will start the periodic data deletion from the
maintenance of October 2019 because the usage rate of working disk space
in MDAS is increasing.
Please note that the periodic data deletion is difference from previous system.
- Deletion target partitions: Partitions of usage rate over 90%
(/lfs[01-16], /wk[m,h]*)
- Partitions of the usage rate under 90% are not executed the data deletion.
- Deletion target data: Files of 12 months passed on "ctime"
- This is the same both /lfs[01-16] and /wk[m,h*].
- The "ctime" is confirmed to use "ls -cl" command.
- The detail of "ctime" is confirmed at manual of "ls" command.
- Decision of target partitions: 2 weeks before executing the deletion
- For convenience of the deletion work, decided target partitions is
performed the periodic data deletion if the usage rate of the partitions will be under 90%.
- We will announcement the state of disk usage before 1 month of the maintenance.
- We will keep you update of partitions of high usage rate.
- Final decision of delete target data and executing the deletion: Periodic maintenance
- Final decision and starting delete data is at the start of the periodic maintenance.
We will operate the above data deletion policy hereafter. Please do your
data organization and/or backup work regularly. Note that the deleted
data is not able to restore and we cannot take responsibility for any
disadvantages caused by the data deletion.
Please check the disk usage and use low usage rate partitions.

多波長データ解析システム 定期データ削除 運用方針
ユーザの皆様
日頃のご利用ありがとうございます。
以前に連絡させて頂いた通り、多波長データ解析システムの作業用ディスク
領域の使用率が増加しておりますので、2019年10月度の定期メンテナンスから、
定期データ削除を開始いたします。なお、定期データ削除実施において、
以前のシステムとは異なる部分がありますので、ご認識頂ければと思います。
・データ削除の対象となる領域：使用率が90％以上の作業用ディスク領域
(/lfs[01-16],/wk[m,h]*)
使用率が 90%未満の領域は定期データ削除を実施いたしません。
・削除対象となるデータ(ファイル)：ctimeで12ヶ月以上経過したファイル
この判定基準は、NFS領域(/lfs*)・ローカル領域(/wk*) 共通になります。
ファイルのctime については、ls -clコマンド等で確認できます。
また、ctimeについては、lsのマニュアル等で詳細が確認できます。
・削除対象領域の決定：定期メンテナンスの2週間前
作業の都合上、一度削除対象に決定した領域は、決定後にディスク使用率が
90%以下になった場合でも定期データ削除作業を実施しますので、ご認識を
お願いいたします。
なお、定期メンテナンスの1か月前にディスク使用状況について連絡いたし
ます。
また、使用率の高い領域については、随時連絡いたします。
・削除ファイルの最終決定と削除作業の実施：定期メンテナンス時
最終的な削除ファイルの確定は、定期メンテナンス開始時になります。
また、定期メンテナンス内でデータ削除を実施いたします。
今後は、上記の方針に基づいて定期データ削除を行いますので、平時から定期的
なデータ整理・バックアップ作業をお願いいたします。なお、削除されたファイ
ルについては復旧不可であり、またデータ削除による不利益等については当方で
責任を持ちかねますので、予めご了承頂ければと思います。
ディスク使用状況をご確認の上、使用率の低い領域の利用もご検討頂ければと
思います。
