Dear users,
A maintenance notice as of July, 2019.
[Maintenance]
Date: July 16, 2019 (Tue *) 9:00 -- 21:00 (JST)
- The third Monday of July 2019 is Japanese holiday, then
the maintenance of July 2019 is the third "Tuesday" (JST)
Servers and workstations are unavailable during the maintenance.
Open-use PCs and plotters are partially available.
- The analysis system will be available as soon as the maintenance
finished.
[Periodic data deletion]
The periodic data deletion in the local and the NFS disk area is
executed in the periodic maintenance.
We strongly recommend that you make backups of any important data.
(Delete target files)
/wk* (local disk) and /lfs* (NFS disk) : 12 months passed (on "ctime")

The periodic data deletion is in preparation.
Therefore, the data deletion is not executed in the maintenance
of July, 2019.
The data deletion will start from the maintenance of October 2019.

[Note]
About use of computer resources
We are checking whether or not users are hogging computer resources
(CPU core, memory etc.) for a long time.
The prolonged occupation of computer resources may cause a disturbance
to other users' work, mostly due to concurrent heavy processing on
servers.
To avoid the above situation we will provide a warning to users.
In addition, please consider using a batch processing system and check
the current status of the server to avoid causing server over-use.

多波長データ解析システム ユーザの皆様
2019年7月度の定期メンテナンス関連事項を連絡いたします。
[メンテナンス]
日時：2019年7月16日(火 ※) 9:00 -- 21:00 (日本時間)
※7月第3月曜日が祝日ですので、翌日の第3火曜日に
メンテナンスを行います。
メンテナンス中はサーバ・ワークステーション等が停止します。
また、データセンターのウェブページも閲覧不可になります。
なお、共同利用PC と大判プリンタの一部は、メンテナンス中も利用可能です。
※メンテナンス作業が終了次第、システムは利用可能になります。
[定期データ削除]
毎回の定期メンテナンス時に、解析サーバのローカルディスク、
および NFS ディスク領域の定期データ削除の実施を検討しております。
重要なファイルはバックアップを取ることを強く推奨いたします。
（削除対象ファイル）
/wk* (ローカル)および /lfs* (NFS 領域)：12か月経過 (ctime で判別)

定期データ削除は、まだ準備中のため、2019年7月度メンテナンスでは
行いません。

※特に記載が無い限り、全ての対話型／バッチ解析サーバ・端末WSが対象です。

[注意点]
計算機リソースの使用について
対話型解析サーバ (kaim*, kaih*) において、少数のユーザで多くの CPU,
メモリ等の計算機リソースを長時間占有する事例が確認されております。
そのような状況は、他ユーザの作業に影響を及ぼしたり、処理集中による
サーバ等への不具合の原因になりますので、当該ユーザに対して注意／警告
等を出す場合があります。また、そのような事態を避けるために、バッチ
システムの利用や、リソース使用状況の確認をお願いいたします。
